November at the Altar: November 2nd and Closing a Cycle

November 2nd isn't only All Souls' Day — it's also one of the two dates most associated with Santa Muerte's own celebration, alongside August 25th (see the full history). For many devotees, it's a good time to review which petitions from this year are still open, and which were already granted without being thanked yet.

A simple altar arrangement

A good time for a simple altar cleanup: removing what's already served its purpose, refreshing the water and flowers, making room for what's next.

Santa Muerte, on this November 2nd I look back on the year that's passed.
