Intention for the month

Protection for what's already been built, and an opening of paths where there's stagnation today.

Suggested veladora

Black for protecting what's already built; gold if the petition is mainly about work. Some devotees light both. See the full color guide →

A simple altar arrangement

A simple arrangement: the chosen veladora at the center, a glass of water, and if possible, something that represents what you want protected — a copy of a contract, a work tool, or a key.

Santa Muerte, as this cycle closes I ask you to protect what I've already built through effort,

and for clarity to open the way where today I find only obstacles.

May what's been achieved not be lost, and may what remains unresolved find its moment.

Amen.

Optional ofrenda

Many devotees mark the change of season with a seasonal fruit and copal, alongside the veladora.

A practice for the month

If the year carries a specific work petition, this is a good time for a nine-day novena instead of a single veladora — see the novena guide.
